Laura's piece of Paradise

I was in a car accident today, and I am fine, but my little sunshine new beetle is not fine. I hope they can fix her, but it seems she will cost too much to fix. I will hate to have my little lady gone. She has such a great story as to how I got her. I everytime I got in her I felt like I was getting a hug from my honey. I am a little sad today.

It has been a long time since I have let myself have a creative outlet! I have been doing lots of swaps. But I have not been doing my OWN thing for awhile. I am currently involved in 2 scrappy thing to get me motivated to play with my extensive stash again! :)  The first one is Camp Scrap with May Flaum on her blog.   Camp Scrap  I'm also part of the Facebook Group. The other thing I am part of to keep the creative juices going are challenges  from  July Scrap Fest being held on the Swaps, Crops and More Facebook Group. We are starting July Scrapfest and I am having a blast!  The inspiration for the layout is challenge number 46 from the scrapfest.  There is a file at the end of the post of all the challenges if you are interested in what we are doing. Branch did Shine! There was so much good last night, that I can't contain it.  Branch had a blast dancing and riding in a limo and he looked so dashing in his tuxedo. It sure has been a long time.  I am thinking of deleting this, but there is so much history in this blog, it is hard for me to let it go.  I have moved jobs once again, and am happy in this place for the time being. Nothing is forever and that is something that I am slowly learning. I have to keep going and loving and loving those who come with me for the ride. I am becoming more adventurous in my OLD age! :) Paddle boarding, jet skiing, zip lining, all things that I wanted to try (not jet skiing) LOL but were afraid to do it because my kids would need me.  I have made some pretty awesome adults, it is time for me to have fun again! :) More to come and to see, I will try to update occasionally to show you what we are up to! :) Laura

      Ok, so maybe that is a little Pre-mature seeing it is only December 31, 2013 and not quite 2014 yet! I'm ok with that actually.   Loving my family and my life. It is good to be happy and upbeat most of the time again. I was very sad for a very long time and feel like part of me is waking up again.   One thing I need to do is figure out my word for the year 2014.  Free set me up to finally be FREE of depression.  That was an entirely GREAT thing! :) Now to motivate my self for changes that need to be made.  Good Changes! :) So, we shall see. Maybe my word should be change! We will see in the next post! :)   I am off to scrap! FREE That is my one little word for this year! I have done lots of things with it already, like a calendar using the word all throughout. I love the idea of FREE.  It was actually my dear sweet husband that came up with the idea.  He thought about free spirit. I am a free spirit. I really don't do things like everyone else. It is the way of the Schaan girls. I think that I will always have a problem with conforming to do the "norm" LOL.  Lets just say that I am not NORMAL! And I really am ok with that! LOL Beautiful pictures from our anniversary. I am in love and so lucky to be in love. It is going to be a great year!

Wow! It has been 7 months since I have written anything. I guess because I have been too busy living! :) That is a good thing.  Seriously good. I have been traveling and having fun with my best friend and love of my life! :) Here is a wonderful surprise when he came home from Arizona in April.  Love this guy. :)     Got some awesome kids too! :) Bethanie graduated...WOW Class of 2012!!!   Billy and I in the Atlanta Dugout! I am making this post for my OLDEST friend in the world.  My very first friend.  She is a scrapper and is intrigued by a room for scrapping.  Here are some pictures snapped just now...not too clean but cleaner than most! lOL Here you go Terri! I'm  little bit early for my word for the year.  It is going to be JOY.  I want to find Joy in the little things and have joy in my life.  I am tired of living with depression and how it sucks the JOY out of EVERYTHING!  I am now going to find Joy in everything.  I am going to start by having a bracelet made that says JOY.  When I start to feel down or blue or insecure or just plain ugly, I am going to look at that hopefully turn myself around. It is a start, right? Thank you for reading I know I have not updated any pictures of myself lately, it is coming. I promise! :) Finding Joy is how I want to embrace and then remember 2012. It has been a long time since I posted.  It has been a rather strange year.  I'm hoping to do more scrapping in the next few months, but I'm still into LIVING rather than documenting.  I have a hard time being able to do both so I think I will live for now and hope for time to document later! :) Have a wonderful holiday I know I have.  I have been spending time with my husband and children.  It has been very low key and wonderful. I am having a beautiful Mother's Day.  I have a wonderful family that loves me and here are my beautiful Children... Yes, Mother's Day has some gifts... An Expression 2 from HSN...I got this a little early so I could play with it during National Scrapbook Day. A Beatles Itunes Card and I got Yellow Submarine! :) Bethanie drew a picture of my favorite picture of Rajah.  She used pastels on orange paper.  It really loooksjust like that picture I took of him, smiling and all. I am so spoiled by my family and the best part is, I am still scrappin! :)  After a QUICK trip to Michaels to get a frame for my beautiful picture of Rajah.  Now, where to put it? :) Here is the 3d object or Challenge #5 from My Pink Stampers NSD Challenges.  I am still having fun. This is an altered clothespin.  I had to paint it and then I added a Lion to it and butterfly...This is for my classroom of course! I am Mrs. Lee and we are Lee's Lions. (we really do ROAR) LOL 

National Scrapbook DayI will be posting off and on all day to participate in several online places! YIPPEE!! My favorite day of the year! ok...this is me scrapping my kitty layout! :) I am on Challenge #4.  I did the Mother's Day theme... Prima papers, with some Basic Grey Cardstock for the journaling box.  Everything is Steel Toe Mary and Whisper lines of paper from Prima.  Prima flowers and leaves.  Quickutz Marisa for the title. (yes it has been a long time since I pulled out my QK fonts) LOL I also used the elegant corner punch from EK Success.  Lots of blasts from the past.   This whole layout is over 2 years old except for the flowers...those are the newest thing I have on the layout.  The baby pictures are 20 and 18  years old...yes I know that means my babies are no longer babies, but they were so cute! :) This is for the mother layout on MPS! :) Thanks again for looking at my work...:) Good Night (it is 2:30 A.M) ! Ahhh...remember Saturday when you were a kid (depending on your era).  Running down the stairs at the crack of dawn to watch cartoons.  (Scooby Doo,  Fred Flinstone, The Loony Tunes Hour and Captain Caveman were some of the favorites). Now my Saturdays are all business it seems, run one kid here and one run kid there.  I LOVE MY LIFE... But sometimes...I miss running down the stairs in my favorite jammies turning on the t.v. and watching cartoons while eating Sugar Smacks.  Here is to your Saturday and I hope you are having a Wonderful Day.

Ok, so I am part of the Cricut Circle, we are having a fun cybercrop, because we were unable to attend the Cricut Stampede in Frisco TX, for whatever reason. :) So, we are having our own crop.  The first challenge of the weekend was this card sketch.
